Saturday of the Twenty Seventh Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

I often think that it was such a great honor for those who met Jesus personally. All his disciples, followers, but even for those who accidentally crossed paths with Jesus, like some scholars of the law, or like Simon of Cyrene, or that woman who touched His cloak and was healed. I am tempted to repeat like the woman from today’s gospel: blessed are all those who met you Jesus, how lucky they are. However, the Lord would reply: “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” Jesus reminds us today that it is not enough to say I know Jesus, He is part of my life, He walks next to me, I talk to Him every day, I listen to Him. No. We are blessed only when we listen to Him and follow His commands.
