God had a plan for Mary, He had plan for Joseph, God also has a plan for you and me. What is His plan? Do you agree with what He has prepared for you? Today is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. The Angel Gabriel was sent to Mary to announce to her what is God’s plan for her- to become the Mother of the Son of God. Mary wasn’t forced to do anything; she could have said ‘no’ but instead she said ‘fiat’ – may it be done to me according to your word. We need to stop and listen, stop in this busy life and pray and try to discern what God prepared for you and me in our lives. And then consider whether I agree with the will of God. Am I able to say ‘fiat’ despite all the difficulties, challenges and misunderstandings? Am I able to trust, just like Mary did, that God knows what is best for me?
