There are many uncertain and unexplained things that happen to us, happen in our lives and lives of others. There are those unexpected blessings that we may receive and also the moments of challenge, certain difficulties, or sadness. We may end up having many questions and doubts when things like these happen. What do we do, then? How do we react? Today the Church celebrates the feast of Mary, Mother of God. From the beginning, her life was filled with unexplained events -- those joyous moments but also moments of tears and sadness. I am sure Mary, the Mother of God, was also puzzled and had many questions for God, like -- why, why me, why my son, why my family? But at the same time, Mary had a tremendous faith. She never lost her trust in God. The Mother of our God never complained but “kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” Perhaps we need to find more time to reflect, to contemplate and to pray for a strong faith.
