Many wanted to meet the newborn Christ, some because they truly believed that He was the Messiah and so wanted to worship Him, some because they were simply curious of what was being said about this child, some, like the Magi, in order to acknowledge Him as a King and bring Him gifts, but also some like sneaky Herod, who being afraid of losing his kingdom wanted to kill Jesus. We too come to Jesus and receive Him in the Eucharist. We need to ask ourselves: Why do we come to Jesus and What do we bring Him? Do we come to praise and worship Him, to thank Him and love Him, or simply because we are curious and follow others? Or maybe we don’t care that much and simply come because this is what we are supposed to do? Many come to Jesus, but for many different reasons. What is my reason?
