“Therefore, do and observe all things whatsoever they tell you, but do not follow their example. For they preach but they do not practice.” I always wondered what Jesus meant when He said this until I have learned about a certain very popular priest who attracted so many people who came to listen to his wonderful homilies and to celebrate his beautiful liturgies. But he ended up being removed by the bishop because of some misconduct. So, he was great preacher, no doubt about that. However, he himself didn’t follow what he preached. Jesus is warning us today that there will be those who will tell us how to live, how to love, how to forgive, but they themselves don’t follow what they teach and preach about. We must be different. We not only should teach what Jesus teaches but implement it into our lives.
