We all have memories of people we used to know, people we loved, our relatives and friends that are no longer with us. I remember when I was a child and we visited my mother’s parents. Up to this day, I remember the smell of the sweet cherry tobacco that my grandfather used to smoke in his pipe. I have a memory of a special breakfast that my father used to prepare for us on each Sunday morning. All of you also have memories from the past. You may remember very simple things or events as I did, and it makes you be filled with nostalgic and let your mind go back to the people that may no longer be with us. I think the disciples had a similar experience when they once again had dinner with Jesus after His resurrection. At that moment, they didn’t recognize Jesus, but later on, they recalled that it was their Master breaking the bread just like He did in the past. Today, I am thanking God for the good memories I have and for the moments in the present that take me back and make me think about and pray for the people that God once placed in my life.
