“They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher), ‘where are you staying?’He said to them, ‘Come, and you will see.’ So, they went and saw where he was staying,and they stayed with him that day.” I always wonder why this gospel does not give us a picture of the place where those two disciples stayed with Jesus. What was it? A house, the temple, maybe He was staying at His friend’s home. Or maybe on the mountain or in the desert? I think I’d like to know this. However, John in his gospel doesn’t tell us. I think it is because John wants us to focus not on the particular place where we could spend time with Jesus, but on the fact that Jesus can be found everywhere we are. If we want to be and stay with Jesus, then we will always be able to find, at each moment of our lives, a good place to meet Him and to stay with Him.
