I really hope and pray that our churches will be filled up again with people. We have all noticed that there are less and less people attending Sunday masses for various reasons. Obviously, the new pandemic variant is one of the reasons, but I think there is more to it than that. I might be wrong, but I think it is because we Christians don’t invite others to worship together and to be together. And by inviting, I don’t mean to verbally invite, but to show others by the way we live how wonderful and attractive our faith is. We need to live our lives so well and joyfully that others would ask: Where is he or she getting that Joy from? From being a Christian? We read today: “Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.” Jesus is no longer present with us in His Human Nature, but now we are His eyes, His ears, His voice, His hands, and His feet and we are called to continue the mission He began. Hopefully ‘a large number of people’ will be attracted to our church once again because of our good way of living.
