When you expect an important guest for a dinner at your home, you diligently prepare. Most likely, you would clean up your house, make sure things are in order, you would go to buy necessary groceries, prepare the dinner, set up the table and wait for that guest to arrive. That’s why when we invite someone over, we set a day and time, so we can make those important preparations. Because if you had invited a guest for a dinner and told him or her: You can come anytime this month, or anytime this year, what would happen? Yes, most likely you will not be prepared for their visit. Guess what? Jesus is coming to meet you, and this visit would probably happen in the hour of your death. Unfortunately, He didn’t tell us when that will be. It can happen today, or next week, or 50 or 100 years from now, but it will happen for sure. Will you be ready to meet Him, will you be prepared? There is only one way to be prepared -- we need to live each day and hour of our lives like that was our last day and hour. We need to make sure to love God and to love others all the time. If we live like that, we will be well prepared. “For at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”
