People give up on prayer, give up on practicing their faith, give up on going to church. Why? Because some think that God doesn’t listen to them and doesn’t answer their prayers. Maybe someone you know also gave up and maybe influenced you to give up also? Today Jesus tells Simon not to give up, try one more time, just once. “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” There may be times that you want to give up, just because you don’t see any progress, or everything in life seems to go wrong. The best thing then (it sems) is just to give up. But Jesus tells you today -- don’t give up, try one more time. Everything will be OK.
