‘Who am I to judge?’- we have all heard this expression. Yes, who are you to judge others? Who am I to judge? Am I perfect- no; am I without sins-of course not; am I always nice- no; are all of my actions good- no; do I always help others and pray for them- not really. So, who am I to judge others? Only God is perfect and only God will judge each one of us. Unfortunately, you and I still judge people. We judge them based on their actions, the way they speak, the way they dress, based on their color of skin, political views, or based on their beliefs. Jesus tells us today that, yes, we can judge others ONLY if we are perfect and without any sins. Are you? Am I? No, and probably never will be, so I shouldn’t judge. “Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”
