Reading the Gospel stories, every so often we hear of Jesus driving out demons. The possession of a demon had a different impact on various people. Some couldn’t speak, some lost their senses, some were hurting themselves, and some behaved like wild animals. What got my attention after reading the Gospel today is the fact that demons are real. We don’t think about them that often, and if someone were to behave in a strange way, most time people would think that person was ill or depressed and needed professional treatment. And in most cases, that would be true. But perhaps sometimes we might encounter someone who is actually possessed by a demon. We may not know that for certain, but it would always be good to ask Jesus for help and grace. Demons are scared of Jesus; they listen to Him, they obey. Whenever you feel down or depressed, just ask Jesus for help. He is able to drive any demons out of our lives.
