Many before us have tried to predict the end of the world, but so far nobody has been right. We also don’t know what kind of ending of the world it would be. Will it happen tomorrow or a million years from now? Jesus is telling us that the Kingdom of God will come, but we can’t predict when that would happen nor how it will happen. It will come for sure, maybe tomorrow or maybe in a million years from now. We shouldn’t be too anxious about that. Rather we should live each day as if the Kingdom of God were coming tomorrow. If we live our lives the best we can, we will always be prepared for the coming of the Kingdom of God. “Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.” Don’t listen to those who try to predict an exact time of it; just love God and love your neighbor and live joyfully and peacefully.
