Thursday of the 6 week of Easter ‘b’

Not everything that we hear, read, or learn about our faith is easy to understand. Some of the Church’s teachings, some parts of the Bible, and even some of Jesus’ teaching are hard to bear. We simply don’t get it. So, what can we do? We can talk to each other, ask questions, and try to help each other to understand what may seem very difficult. We are one community of believers and we do have each other. Some of us might even have a better knowledge of these issues, or it might be easier for them to understand them. That’s why we need to help each other with our faith and knowledge of Jesus’ teaching. In the Gospel reading today, the disciples had a hard time understanding what Jesus was saying, and so what they did? They try to ask each other what Jesus meant, what He was trying to teach them. Let us try to understand together. That’s why we have our Church and each other – together to make our faith stronger.
