Thursday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

I like this gospel reading for today because it always encourages me to keep faith in God. Encourages me to believe even if everything seems impossible, even when I feel so distant from God, or when I keep calling Him asking for help, but I don’t hear back. In moments like that, it is so easy to give up, to lose faith, or to turn somewhere else. However, the blind man from the gospel reading provides me with a great example of faith and persistence. Even when it seemed to him that Jesus who just passed by didn’t hear his crying, even when others were telling him to be quiet and to stop bothering the Lord, he screamed even louder. And that faith and persistence paid off. Jesus turned back, performed a miracle, and the blind man was now able to see. There is so much we can learn from that poor man.
