Have you ever wondered if your prayer is a good prayer? Maybe there are times when you finished praying and then think if you prayed for all the things you wanted to. Or if God listened to your words. We know many different and beautiful prayers, and at times we talk to God using our own words. But today Jesus is giving us the perfect prayer, the prayer that He used Himself. We know the Lord’s prayer by heart, but let us reflect today on what that perfect prayer contains. First, when we talk to God, we should praise Him, we should acknowledge His name, be thankful for all He has done for us. Then we should pray for the reign of God in our lives and in our hearts. He must be the first - “thy Kingdom come.” After that, there is time for asking God to bless us with the most essential things that we need in this life -- “give us this day our daily bread.” Then, we should humbly acknowledge that we are sinners, and we need God’s mercy and forgiveness, but we also must forgive those who hurt us. And in the end, we should also ask God to help us in our fight against evil and its temptations. Jesus teaches us a perfect prayer, a prayer that contains all the elements that need to be included.
