Sometimes we do a lot to please others, especially those who are important to us. We want them to speak highly about ourselves, to think well of us, and to like us. Nothing wrong with that. But today Jesus wants you to ask yourself what do you do to please God, to seek His love and His forgiveness. Because it is far more important for us to please our God, to believe in Him, love Him, and trust Him, than to please another person. Jesus said “I do not accept human testimony” to those religious leaders of His time, who instead of testifying with their lives about God, they only sought their own selfish gain and wanted to be praised by others. No, God doesn’t need to be praised by us humans, because no matter what we say about Him, it would not add anything to His greatness. But it does help us becoming a better people.
