Thursday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘a’

Again, this parable today helps me to understand why God won’t remove evil from this world. Why wouldn’t He remove all those bad people that cause harm to others, or take advantage of others, those who are selfish and care only about their own gain? God is patient and waits. He gives the time and chances to everyone to repent, to change, and to come back to Him. Some people do repent, but some lose that chance. However, one day we will face the judgment of our God and that will be the time when God will separate good people from those bad people. “The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age.” For now, God lets us ‘swim’ in this ocean of life without intervening, without removing the evil ones; God patiently waits. But one day He will separate good from evil and when that day comes, it will be too late for any changes on our part.
