Thursday of the Seventh Week of Easter ‘b’

Jesus continues His prayer for the disciples and at one point He mentions: “Father, they are your gift to me.” I must admit that I never gave much of my attention to these particular words before. But today, I stopped there to think more about them. Jesus considers His disciples as a gift. Have you ever thought that you might be a precious gift to Jesus? I haven’t. Most times I think of myself as an unworthy servant of God. The one who often sins, the one who does not keep his promises to God. I think of God as my Lord, who loves me and is ready to forgive me, but I never considered myself as a gift to God. We all are sinners, we all run away from God at times. But we are still a precious gift to Jesus.
