Thursday of the Third Week of Easter

Do you believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, in the host that you receiving during mass? Again, don’t try to understand it, because just reasoning will get you nowhere. Your mind will be telling you that the host is not Jesus’ flesh, doesn’t look like it, doesn’t smell like it, nor doesn’t taste like it. Besides, who would eat human flesh? That’s why so many consider the Eucharist only as a symbol, something that Jesus commended us to do. However, the Eucharist is not only a symbol. If you only try to understand this miracle, which during the consecration the bread and that wine becomes the body and blood of Christ, then you will miss it. Instead, we need to pray for deeper faith, namely, that what we consume is truly Jesus, the bread from heaven. Jesus said: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.”
