Thursday of the Twenty Seventh Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

How many people have turned from God only because they lost their patience? Too many, I think. I know people like that. They would say that they asked God for certain things, and He didn’t grant them what they asked for. Or they say that they kept praying and praying, but nothing happened. However, it is very important to understand that when we pray and ask for certain things, it does not mean that this is exactly the will of God. Sometimes He has different plans for us. Perhaps you prayed for a certain thing many years ago and then got angry at God because He didn’t do for you what you prayed for. Yet today, you are laughing, because you now know that God did answer your prayer in a more abundant way. I know this happened to me. When we pray, it is not about what we are asking for, but when we pray, we are deepening our relationship with God, we are being blessed by Him, we come to Him like to our Father, who may not always give us what we want, but at the same time He knows what is best for us. “I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
