Jesus likes when we, His people, listen to Him, when we gather around Him and are willing to spend time with Him. In the Gospel today, the disciples encouraged Jesus to send His listeners back home because it was getting late. But Jesus said no, I want them to stay with me, to listen to me, and to be with me. Jesus wants me to be with Him as long as and as often as possible, but sometimes I am too busy to spend enough time with Him. Sometimes I only reserve an hour a day, or a week or even less for Him. I realized today that I need more of His presence in my life, and if I will offer Him my time and attention I will always be fed by His word.
