Tuesday in the Thirty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

Jesus said: “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’ Do not follow them!” This warning is so relevant even today for us. There are so many people out there who will actually try to deceive us by trying to convince us that on a certain day the end of the world will happen. Or they will be telling us that God does not exist. Or they will be telling you that people have the right to choose what is good or what is wrong for themselves. Or that, in Jesus’ eyes, everything is OK because He loves me so I can do whatever I want. Quite often I speak with someone who has tried to convince me to believe in something, only because he or she heard it on the YouTube channel, or read it on social media without checking the source, without even checking who is saying it and why. We all need to be so careful today and not to fall into the manipulations of the evil one. All we need to do is to have trust in Jesus and pray asking Him to help us to distinguish what comes from Him and what comes from the evil one. “Do not be deceived!”
