One thing caught my attention from the Gospel reading for today. It is the fact that the disciples were unable to recognize Jesus walking towards them on the sea. They had seen the miracles done by Him already, they knew that He was the Son of God and could do things beyond our human understanding, but still, they thought that they are seeing a ghost. I think that it was fear that blinded them, and they were not able to recognize the presence of God. Isn’t it the same with us at times? That kind of fear, uncertainty, pain, and all the things that terrify us may, sometimes, prevent us from recognizing God’s presence. But God is present and always ready to be with you and me, to help you even in the most difficult moments of your life. You may not see Him or not recognize Him because of fear, but today He reminds us that He is always there with us.
