Tuesday of the 2 week in ordinary time ‘b’

Mk 2:23-28

If you are hungry, you will look for something to eat; if you are cold, you would dress up warmer or adjust the heat in your house. If you walk on a slippery sidewalk and an elder person that you just passed falls down, you would stop and try to help. If your child gets sick during mass at church, you would walk him out and try to help right away. There are times that we need to react right away, no matter what. Jesus reminds us today that the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath. That means that no matter what day it is, no matter what we are doing, no matter where we are, we need to take care of ourselves and of others who may need our help and our attention. We do have many rules and regulations in our church, and they are important, but the basic needs of human beings are even more important and should always be a priority to us.
