Tuesday of the 2 week of Advent ‘c’

Whenever I read this Gospel passage about a Good Shepherd that is willing to leave and risk the safety of 99 obedient sheep just to go in a search of the one that got lost, I am thinking that it is good to belong to that group of 99. Yes, I often consider myself belonging to that obedient flock not that lost one. But am I? Are you? What do you think? Whenever we sin, we distance ourselves form God’s flock, from God’s church, and we remain distant as long as we don’t seek God’s forgiveness. But God never loses His hope and is patiently waiting, giving us the freedom to choose if we want to come back, or to keep being astray. And whenever we are found again and we are back: “and if he finds it, amen, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.” Where do you belong, to those 99 or are you are that one lost?
