Tuesday of the 34 week in ordinary time ‘b’

Most of us enjoy visiting galleries, museums, and we also like to travel to different places around the world, to learn about other cultures, and to visit a new place. When you travel to Europe, for example, you would probably visit majestic castles, beautiful cathedrals, and prominent museums. We are in awe seeing some of those places because we witness things that are extraordinary, quite beautiful and majestic. We see places and things that very talented people created. And so we want to protect them, keep them for the future so the next generations will benefit from experiencing them too. Today Jesus says: “All that you see here–the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.” Jesus is speaking about the end of this world that is imminent. In the same way, even the most beautiful and handsome person in this world would need to leave the body behind. We need to be concerned not so much about the things of this world, because they will not last forever. Rather we need to make sure that our lives and our souls are majestic, holy, beautiful, and joyful.
