This world is unjust. There are people who are hungry while others waste their food; there are people with power that take advantage of others. Those who have too much money and those who can’t pay their rent. There are people who are strong, healthy and beautiful and others who are sick, disabled or blind. Yes, this world is unjust. But we don’t belong to this world, we belong to God and God is always just and fair to His people. In this beautiful Magnificat that we read in the Gospel for today, Mary rejoices that God will bring justice to those who are poor, who are sick or hungry, and to those who suffer. Someone once said that the more we suffer in this world, the more reward we will receive in Heaven. I believe in that.
