Whenever we need to say ‘goodbye’ to someone we love, grief fills our hearts. Today Jesus warns His disciples that He will leave this world and that grief will fill their hearts. Yes, there is always some grief and sadness when the person that we love and spend time with leaves this world, but there is also great hope that Jesus gives us today. He tells us that He is going back to the Father. He is not dying; He is just moving. And that is a great promise of hope for all of us. Think about that, for us Christians, death is only a transition, we are not dying but only moving on. We are going back to our Father, to our Mother, we are going back to the place that we truly belong, even if we have gotten attached to this world.
