It is hard to treat each person equally. We tend to look for relationships with people that are good looking, smart, people that make us laugh, and people who have money, or are well known. If you know someone famous and have a picture of that person, you like to show it to others -- nothing wrong with that. But as we all know, there is a tendency in us to prefer those who are somehow ‘better’. You would probably not look for a relationship with someone who is begging for food on the corner of the street, or someone who is very ill, or just a stranger, a loner. Today we read: “Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion. You do not regard a person’s status but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.” Today Jesus reminds me that I need to ask Him to help me to learn not to look at other’s people appearance, status, or just their knowledge, but to see them in the truth and to love them as God loves each one of us.
