There are people who are angry with our church, often saying that the church needs to be modernized, that certain laws and regulations made sense when Jesus was here or hundreds of years ago, but they don’t fit anymore into our modern world. I agree that some things in our church should be changed, updated. However, some things about the Church will never change even if this world might be pushing against us and telling us that we are old-fashioned and that we are out-of-sync. But guess what -- Jesus wants His disciples to be different, to stand out in this world, to pray for those who cause us harm, to forgive and love our enemies, to greet and smile at those who want to exchange a smile with us. A Christian is not old fashioned; a Christian follows God’s advice.
