Tuesday of the First Week of Advent ‘c’

Jesus said: “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.” And whenever we read about Jesus’ ministry here on earth, we can see what Jesus meant by that prayer. All of His first chosen disciples were very simple people, not very well educated, not powerful, not rich. They were simple and humble people. But those with power, authority, and well educated mostly criticized Jesus, they couldn’t believe that He was the Son of God. As a result of that, they rejected Him. There is nothing wrong with being well educated, nothing wrong with being a person of power. But only those who are humble and have their hearts open will be able to meet Christ and believe that He is the One. Let us ask Jesus to make each one of us ‘childlike’ because only then can Christ reveal to us many wonderful things.
