Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Advent ‘a’

Writer: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

The Angel Gabriel said to Mary: “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you. But she was greatly troubled at what was said and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.” It is a beautiful greeting that acknowledges Mary as one without any stain of sin -- as full of grace. We all repeat this greeting whenever we pray the ‘Hail Mary’ and we remember her as that one without sin. This is a season of greetings -- we wish each other many good things; we are busy sending out beautiful greeting cards. So, what are your words of greeting to those you send a Christmas card? Do you simply follow the structure of this secular world and simply say: Happy Holidays, be well, many good wishes, and so on? Or are you not afraid to share beautiful words filled with faith that this season is a time to acknowledge that we should rejoice because God came to us, that Christ is being born and that this is the reason for us Christians to celebrate?
