Tuesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

The disciples of Jesus asked Him: “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” Have you ever wondered about that too? Sometimes I think about it. For example, in Heaven are there different levels of sanctity? Are there some saints that are higher in the heavenly hierarchy? Or, if I go to heaven, where would I belong? So, today Jesus gives an answer to those types of questions when he placed the child in front of His disciples and said: “unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” While we live in this world, we see people in different positions of power and authority. We also think of our wonderful saints and that one might be greater than another. However today Jesus clearly says that in His Kingdom, it is totally different. It is not like we used to hear. In Heaven there is no division, there are no positions, there is nothing like in this world. In heaven we all become brothers and sisters united in perfect love with God.
