“John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” We hear these words often during mass when the priest raises the host, right before we receive Holy Communion. But do we pay much attention to this testimony of John the Baptist? Our Holy Communion is not just a small piece of bread, it is not only a symbol, but it is the same God that takes away our sins and the sins of the world. Next time you receive Holy Communion, think about that testimony of John the Baptist and be thankful that you have the same God coming to you -- a God who will heal your soul and wipe away all of your sins.
