Tuesday of the Second Week of Easter ‘a’

We may call ourselves people of faith, but what does it mean. What is faith? Simply put -- faith is believing in something that can’t be seen, can’t be touched, can’t scientifically be proven. Very often Jesus tells His listeners to have faith, to believe that whatever He says is true even if you won’t find the proof for it right away. Those who don’t believe would argue that there is no God, that there is no resurrection, that our religion was made-up by people. In His conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus tries to explain that it is not about understanding but about faith. Only those who believe that there is a resurrection will have eternal life. “No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” We must ask God to increase our faith that there is resurrection, that there is eternal life, and that one day we will be with God too.
