A very interesting situation in the gospel reading for today. Jesus and His disciples are on the journey and Jesus used this opportunity to share with them something very important. He was teaching his disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be handed over to men and they will kill him, and three days after his death the Son of Man will rise.” But they didn’t understand what He was saying, they didn’t even ask Him to explain why? Because they were arguing among themselves about who is the greatest. I don’t get it! Jesus is telling them such an essential truth about Himself, but they didn’t pay attention to that. They were more concerned about themselves and who is better. But isn’t this similar to me today? Or with you? There are times when we become so much concerned about those earthly things that we don’t pay attention to what Christ is trying to tell us. Many times, in my life, I realize that I was running all day after such silly, unimportant things that made me miss the presence of the Lord who perhaps wanted to share with me something very important.
