Tuesday of the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

How privileged we are to be able to participate in the Holy Eucharist each Sunday or even each day. Unfortunately, many of us Catholics don’t think that way. Some of us think that Sunday Mass is only an obligation, and if I don’t go to mass then I commit a sin. No one should think that way. Holy mass, Holy Eucharist is a joyful celebration, a banquet to which we are invited by our Lord Jesus Christ. We should come with joy to this banquet because it is here where we meet our God in the scriptures, in the Eucharist, and in our community. Jesus invites us all, hoping that we will come and eat with Him and be strengthen by Him. But as you know many refused to come. In today’s parable Jesus reminds us that we should joyfully accept His invitation. Otherwise He may choose and invite somebody else instead. “Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my home may be filled. For, I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.”
