Tuesday of the Thirty- Fourth Week in Ordinary Time ‘c’

LK 21:5-11

“While some people were speaking about how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,Jesus said, All that you see here– the days will come when there will not be left a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.” Jesus reminds us today that nothing in this world will last forever. Yes, we have majestic churches and cathedrals all around the world. We like to visit them and are amazed by the beauty of the architecture. But all of those things will pass sooner or later. And it will be no different with our physical bodies -- no matter how healthy, beautiful, and strong they are today, nothing lasts forever. Even this world won’t be here always. It is good to have beautiful architecture, to be amazed by God’s creation, and to visit exotic places, but at the same time we need to take care of what is inside of us because our spirit will last forever.
