Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.” Today, Jesus uses very strong words, but what does He mean by them? How I understand Jesus’ words is that we Christians have been given a wonderful gift of our Tradition, church teaching, holy sacraments, and the word of God that is recorded in the bible. We need to protect and treasure these gifts and make sure that those who do not believe in them, those who do not believe in our God, do not misuse those wonderful gifts. We Catholics, we welcome everyone to be one with us, to worship with us. But first, those who want to join our faith must make the profession of the same faith, so they have a full understanding and belief in those gifts, given to us by God. The sacraments which we have and especially the sacrament of the Eucharist can’t be given to those who do not believe that the Eucharist truly is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
