We often call ourselves a ‘Christian family’ and we address each other as brothers and sisters. In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus for the very first time invited us to call our God ‘Abba - Father.’ Even Jesus’ own Mother became our Mother too. This a great privilege of belonging to our one Christian family and of having God as our Father. However, this comes with a price. And what is that? Well, if you read the Gospel for today, you will know the answer. Jesus said: “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.” Jesus wants us to become His sisters and His brothers, and to call God - our Father. But because of that, we need to fulfill God’s will in our lives.
