I like the story from the Gospel reading for today. Jesus visits two sisters, Martha and Mary. Martha wants to make sure that her important guest is welcomed to her house as well as possible, so she gets busy and nervous with all the preparations, while her sister Mary “sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak.” So, when Martha asks Jesus to tell Mary to help her, He simply says: “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.” The last words of Jesus are so significant to me -- what Mary chose will not be taken from her. We all get busy with many tasks and responsibilities in this life and those are important, but most things that we are running after, or pursuing will not last forever. However, the time you spend with the Lord, the relationship you build with Him, will last forever -- and it will not be taken away from you. Try to find time for your personal encounter with Jesus. That moment with Him will never be taken away from you.
