Tuesday of the Twenty Sixth Week in Ordinary Time ‘b’

Have you ever been rejected by others based on your beliefs in Jesus? Did anyone ever turn away from you because you spoke the truth, because you talked about Jesus? Maybe there were times when others were laughing at you, thinking that you must be so naïve still believing in Jesus’ promises, since there are so much evil and bad things happening around us. What was your reaction then? Did you get angry, did you argue, did you seek revenge, or wish them harm? That was the first reaction of Jesus’ disciples after they were not welcomed in one of the Samaritan villages. They asking the Lord: “do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?” But Jesus rebuked them. Jesus doesn’t want us to answer to anger with anger and to rejection with revenge. He wants us to remember that we may face reaction because of His name, but we should never respond to that rejection with anger.
