Tuesday, The 5 day in the Octave of Christmas

LK 2:22-35

Simeon rejoiced because He was able to see the Christ. It was promised to him that he would not die before seeing the Savior. Simeon and many others couldn’t wait to see and meet the Messiah. They were waiting for Him for generations, and finally, He was there. What a joy and blessing to Simeon to be able to meet the Christ, to see Him and to touch Him. Aren’t we blessed today that we can see, we can meet and can even touch the Christ. He is truly present today, we don’t have to wait for generations for Him. He is here in the scriptures, in the sacraments, and in each one of us. We can repeat after Simeon: “Lord, now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled: my own eyes have seen the salvation.”
