Wednesday in the Octave of Easter ‘b’

Writer: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

Recently, somewhere on social media, I had come across a post of someone who said that it is impossible to understand the resurrection of Christ. That person would like to have some scientific proof that Jesus truly was raised form the dead and the tomb. Well, many of us don’t understand the resurrection either and would rather seek for some kind of scientific proof for it. In the gospel today, we read about two of Jesus’ disciples on their way to Emmaus. They are sad and troubled that Jesus died on the cross. And then Jesus joins them, but they still don’t recognize Him. Jesus tells them and us today: stop trying to understand the resurrection, there is nothing to understand. Stop waiting for a proof, there won’t be any proof. Just believe! Believe in what I have told you. Stop understanding and start believing.
