Wednesday of Holy Week ‘a’

Writer's picture: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

Jesus said to His disciples: “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me. Deeply distressed at this, they began to say to him one after another, Surely, it is not I, Lord?” Is it you; is it me? Obviously, we can’t control the future and we don’t know what kind of sins we will commit tomorrow, in a week, or in a month. We don’t want to betray our Lord, but sadly we do that each time when we sin -- we betray Him. “One of you will betray me.” Is it me; is it you? When would that happen, how would that happen? I think that no matter what the future will bring and what kind of sins we will commit again, for now we need to enjoy the presence of the Lord. We need to rejoice in being invited to His table and be thankful that He is there. Hopefully it is not you nor me that would betray Him. But let’s not think about the future; let’s think about the present time and rejoice for being with the Lord.
