Wednesday of the 3 week of Easter ‘b’

Writer: Fr. KrisFr. Kris

There are many things in this life that we desire. We want this pandemic to end, we want the end of racism and injustice, we pray for world peace. But we also desire simple things for ourselves and for our families, things like health, good schools, food on the table, a house to live in, and a well-paying job. Nothing wrong with that; we all need and want peaceful, safe, and comfortable lives. We don’t like to worry about things. But as we all know this world will never satisfy our desires, it will never satisfy our hunger or our thirst. Unfortunately, this world never will be peaceful, never just, never free from illnesses and pandemics. We will never have the security of being always well and prosperous. Security like that comes only from Jesus who offers us the bread of life, eternal life. So, if we have faith in Jesus’ promises, then we don’t have to worry about anything, and He tells us today: “whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”
