“There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us.” There was a time when I used to think just like Jesus’ disciples from the Gospel reading for today. I thought that we, the Catholic Church, have a monopoly on Jesus and for spreading His mission into this world. However today, Jesus reminds us that whoever does any good in this world, no matter what religion he or she belongs to, is not against Jesus but actually continues the mission of Christ. We can’t prevent nor criticize anyone from performing good deeds, whoever that person might be and to what church or religion they belong. We all are called to make this world a better place -- together.
