Wednesday of the 7 week of Easter ‘b’

The Church is one body. We are one body, at least we were supposed to be. You hear this often, in homilies, in songs, in prayers that we are one body, one Church. When one part of our physical body hurts, then our whole body suffers and analogously if one member of the Church sins, then the whole Church suffers. Unfortunately, many Catholics keep forgetting about this and they choose to sin, or choose to live an immoral life, or do not accept the teaching of the Church. We should be united; we should be one body. But we are not. We are divided in so many ways. Even the pandemic divided us lately. That’s why Jesus prays for us: “Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.” We need to join Jesus in the same prayer and ask God for unity in our Church.
