The resurrection is something that each follower of Jesus must believe in. Jesus himself, raised from the dead, promises this to all of us. I do believe in the resurrection, but just like the Sadducees from the Gospel reading today, I would like to know what would it look like? how will I feel after resurrection? what will I see? Will I be able to meet my family and friends who went there before me? All will be different there, Jesus tells me today. And this may sadden us, because we are so used to the structures of this world, so that if we are promised something completely different to come after the resurrection, we are kind of uncertain. “When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are like the angels in heaven.” I think it will be much better than anything we experience here; at the end, we will be like angels in heaven. I hope being like an angel is really better than being here in this life. Let’s wait and see.
